Hub Manager - Visual Impairment Insight Hub (FTC)
London, WC1 (remote working)

About Us

We’re Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives after their sight has been affected. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have over a century of experience providing the best care to our veterans.

In order to realise the full potential of vision research for the benefit of blind veterans and the wider vision impaired sector, it was decided to separate our research department into its own charity in 2021, Bravo Victor.

The Sight Loss Sector Partnership has awarded Bravo Victor a grant to establish and operate a new and exciting web-based development, the Visual Impairment (VI) Insight Hub. The Hub will provide accessible UK research related resources and literature on people living with sight loss.

We are now looking for a Hub Manager to join Bravo Victor and lead our VI Insight Hub on a full-time basis, for an initial 18 month fixed term contract with the possibility to become permanent. Secondment opportunities will also be considered.

The Benefits

- Salary of up to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications (pro rata)
- Generous annual leave with the option to buy additional days (pro rata)
- Pension scheme with generous employer contributions
- Healthcare cash plan
- Access to legal services and mental health support
- Employee assistance programme

This is an incredible opportunity for a project management professional with a great leadership style to join our passionate organisation.

The creation of our new hub allows us to make even greater strides in accelerating the research to prevent, reduce or reverse visual impairment, related conditions and disabilities and this is your chance to play a vital role in this mission.

Working in this innovative and exciting area, you will be enabled to develop your experience and skills whilst making a huge difference to the visually impaired with vital resources and information.

So, if you want to lead a friendly, highly motivated, and professional team to help us achieve victory over blindness, we want to hear from you!

The Role

As the Hub Manager, you will oversee the development and management of the Hub, engaging stakeholders to further build and populate the Hub.

Supported by a web development company and working groups drawn from partner organisations, you will co-ordinate and manage information and produce content and communications.

You will collaborate with charities, academia and government departments to create infographics and animated summaries that inform the visually impaired and provide vital information.

Additionally, you will present work to potential users or stakeholders, using recognised and suitable channels to communicate findings and implications.

To be considered as a Hub Manager, you will need:

- Project management experience
- Management experience
- Experience of bringing stakeholders and contractors together to deliver on projects
