Here at the Suttons Group, a long standing and successful global logistics provider, we have the opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our international team based in Widnes, Cheshire.

As a Procurement Manager at Suttons, you’ll be fundamental to the continual delivery of high quality, cost effective, international logistics services through the procurement of vendors and services. You’ll be influential in supporting the needs of the business, putting account safety, quality, price and service first.

You’ll be fundamental to the continuity of supply and services for the operations team.

A successful candidate will be looking at a salaried base of around £40,000 to £45,000.

• Must possess a strong working knowledge of procurement, invoice processing and payment functions in an electronic environment.
• Have three to five years of experience in procurement management in a commercial/manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
• Ensure that Global purchasing policies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of safety, quality, price, and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the International business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
• Liaises with key company employees to determine their service needs
• Monitors business trends to pay the best price for company services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
• Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
• Identifies and researches potential new suppliers
• Researches new services to meet company's goals
• Assesses total costs of Company purchases versus other providers
• Develops and implements strategies for procuring services in a timely, efficient manner
• Participates in Global reviews to ensure agreed KPI’s are met/exceeded

• The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, contract management or a closely related field.
• A formal procurement qualification would be an advantage.
