Production / Manufacturing Operative

Cooksongold is a leading global supplier of precious metals in gold, silver, platinum and palladium alloys. We are the UK's largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker. 

As a Production / Manufacturing Operative in the jewellery industry, you will be responsible for cutting and weighing precious metals. Working in a small team of 9, you will report to a Team Leader, test your ability to meet tight deadlines and build your experience in manufacturing precious metals. 

In return, we will provide you with on the job training, guidance and the support you need to build on your existing expertise. 

Your duties will include: 
- Ensuring all individual metal orders are selected, cut and weighted accurately and in accordance to relevant customer order and volumes with minimal defects 
- Maintaining a high standard of quality 
- Ensuring all relevant paperwork related to each job is completed in full including the documentation of materials used 
- Maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring the immediate work area is kept to a high standard of cleanliness 
- Adhering to housekeeping standards at all times 
- Operating equipment to agreed Health and Safety standards 
- Stock control 
- Assisting with stock takes as and when required 

The successful candidate will have: 
- Experience in a production / engineering environment 
- Manufacturing qualifications would be advantageous 
- Good manual dexterity skills and eye to hand co-ordination, as you will be handling small items at times 
- Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills 
- The ability to work quickly and accurately 
- Effective team working skills 
- A flexible and reliable approach 
- The ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet demands set by the department, company or external customer 
- Knowledge and experience within the jewellery industry would be desirable 

Hours of work: 
Total of 37.5 hours per week, working a pattern of Monday to Friday 1030 - 1830 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
