The Inspire and Achieve Foundation (IAF) is a local, Mansfield-based charity that helps disadvantaged young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) conquer challenges, find their motivation and work towards a positive future.

We run a variety of outreach, mentoring and training programmes, including the Prince’s Trust Team Programme, to help young people aged 16 – 25 gain confidence and progress into employment or education.

We’re now looking for a Mentoring Manager to join our teams across Mansfield, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and deliver projects that provide the support disadvantaged young people need to make a success of their lives, exceed expectations and achieve more than even they imagined.

The Role

As the Mentoring Manager, you will be tasked with managing and delivering a range of mentoring and outreach programmes across Mansfield, Nottingham and throughout Nottinghamshire.

Line managing operational staff within each service, you will oversee the mentoring and outreach staff, manage service operations, deal with the governance, risk and quality aspects and develop partnerships and projects.

Specifically, this will involve:

- Supporting, supervising, reviewing, line and performance managing, inspiring and motivating your team
- Delivering projects, developing strategies, capturing requirements and managing budgets
- Planning, delivering and co-ordinating programmes
- Managing the quality of each service, acting as data controller and reviewing internal policies and procedures
- Assessing, managing and mitigating risk
- Leading stakeholder management and working with Directors to identify new projects

About You

To be considered as a Mentoring Manager, you will need:

- At least three years’ experience of working with young people between the age of 16-26 years who are NEET
- A minimum of three years’ experience providing IAG and a proven track record of successfully assisting young people into employment, education or other positive outcomes
- At least three years’ experience of engaging and recruiting hard to reach young people
- Experience of working in an outreach and community based role with a range of agencies and organisations
- Experience of project management
- Demonstrable ability to effectively support, gain the respect of, and build trusting and positive relationships with young people
- Extensive knowledge of managing and implementing Safeguarding processes and procedures

Due to the nature of this role, an enhanced DBS check will be required.

Experience of securing Matrix or other quality mark accreditations would be beneficial to your application. Extensive third sector, DWP and/or education contacts in Nottinghamshire relevant for NEETs would also be an advantage.
