About Us

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is a charity and a social enterprise which aims to transform the quality of life for people, places, and communities.

The “Positive People” Building Better Opportunities, Coast to Coast and South and East projects, funded by the Big Lottery and European Social Fund, seek to help people who are unemployed or economically inactive to overcome their personal barriers to participation in training, volunteering, education and work. The programmes help individuals to increase their skills, experience and knowledge, enabling them to develop personally and move towards work, volunteering, education or training.

We’re now on the lookout for a Caseworker to join us and support the success of the project in Redruth and St Austell. This is a fixed-term contract until the 31st March 2022 (which may extend subject to funding).

You’ll be at the heart of the action, working in a front-line position providing advice and guidance to people who need it the most and will discover that this is an incredibly rewarding contract where you will have the chance to see those you help thrive.

Your Role

As a Caseworker, you will support people on their journey to wellness, social inclusion, learning or work.

Managing a caseload of individuals, you will help them to identify and overcome personal barriers to achieving their goals, focusing on training, education, volunteering and work.

Some of your duties will include:

- Working with participants in both group and 1-2-1 settings
- Providing advice and guidance in an inclusive way
- Connecting people with groups and organisations that will benefit them
- Working with local partners, stakeholders and organisations to identify and recruit eligible participants
- Helping to collate, generate and share CN4C news, opportunities, success stories and information via social media channels
- Performing a range of administrative tasks

About You

To be considered as a Caseworker, you will need:

- At least one year’s experience of managing your own caseload
- An understanding of how to help people from disadvantaged communities or people with multiple/complex needs to overcome barriers
- Good IT skills, including the ability to update and maintain databases, customer management systems and/or data systems
- An understanding of how to create a safe operating environment
- An understanding of the need for confidentiality and equal opportunities

Knowledge of community development would be beneficial to your application, as would an understanding of European funding.

Placement in this role will be subject to receipt of two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
