- THE PROJECT -
Innovation management is a core element of Industry 4.0, and relates to the systematic control of all the resources that drive innovation. Managing innovation in this dynamic technology-enabled environment needs to accommodate complexity and uncertainty. Organisations need managers with an international perspective who understand how to bring innovative products and services to market, repeatably introduce and exploit innovation, and identify and realise new commercial opportunities.

- THE ROLE -
In response to these challenges, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has configured a framework of Masters programmes to up-skill employees in Welsh industry in the key areas of Innovation Management and Industry 4.0. This post will be based at the Wales Centre for Advanced Batch Manufacture (CBM), and the role is part of a suite of EU-funded projects that address industry engagement and skills development at the post-graduate degree level. The project will operate within the West Wales and the Valleys programme area.

You will have significant, well-developed knowledge and expertise of the capture and management of innovation within an international commercial or industrial setting, ideally gained in a product development or advanced manufacturing environment. You will be confident of engaging with businesses to undertake a skills gap analysis and actively promote recruitment to the project by participants within the business as being beneficial to both the individual and the business. While maintaining a focus on the management of innovation processes, you will also be capable of providing insightful contributions across the whole of CBM’s Masters’ framework, including the Industry 4.0 Advanced Manufacturing project.

This is a pan-Wales project and you will be required to travel throughout Wales, with the opportunity to work across international boundaries and in different commercial / industrial cultures and environments.
