About Us

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) is a charity and a social enterprise that aims to transform the quality of life for people, places and communities.

We’ve been around since 2001 and are focused on affecting change that will make lives better, make Cornwall fairer and combat inequality and injustice.

We are now looking for a Change Coach to join our teams supporting people across Cornwall for a two year contract.

The Role

As a Change Coach, you will be responsible for guiding individuals through their journey to wellness, social inclusion, learning or work.

Managing a caseload of participants, you will help them identify and overcome barriers, achieve their goals and take positive action. Focusing on training, education, volunteering, and work, you will support individuals to progress their lives and overcome challenges.

You will work directly with participants within a group and 1-2-1 setting, building relationships and providing advice and guidance in an inclusive manner that will help to impact needs and disadvantages.

Additionally, your role will involve:

- Supporting individuals to move into training, education, volunteering, employment work and job searches
- Running engagement activities
- Building relationships with local specialist project partners
- Supporting participants to complete any programme eligibility paperwork and evidence
- Identifying and forging relationships with partners and stakeholders

About You

To be considered as a Change Coach, you will need:

- Experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs
- An understanding of how to overcome the barriers for people from disadvantaged communities and people facing multiple and complex needs
- An understanding of the need for confidentiality and equal opportunities
- An understanding of how to create a safe operating environment
- An understanding of working with people through traumatic events
- A high level of interpersonal skills
- A high level of communication skills, both written and oral
- A Level 2 qualification or above in Information, Advice and Guidance, Mentoring or Coaching, or equivalent experience
- The ability to motivate people to make positive change
- An enthusiastic approach to engaging with members of our community
- The ability to support people in emotional distress
- Empathy and the ability to relate to those from a wide range of backgrounds

An understanding of community development would be beneficial to your application. A track record of working in partnership with voluntary and statutory organisations would also be an advantage, as would experience of virtual delivery of activities.

A Community Development qualification would be desirable, as would a Safeguarding Qualification at Level 2 or above.
