Main purpose and scope of job
Crane Driver will be responsible as part of a team for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of RDF Preparation Plant at Allington EFW plant.
Crane Driver duties will include driving heavy plant machinery, operation of overhead cranes, forklift trucks, any other machinery on site. You will be responsible for complying with FCC's safe system of work at all times. You will assist in the operation of the Allington plant within environmental compliance at all times. Carry out front line maintenance and housekeeping tasks on site to ensure plant availability is maintained. You will be expected to carry out other duties identified from time to time ensuring objectives are achieved in the operation of Allington EfW.

Duties and key responsibilities - Operational

• Understanding of the IPPC Permit within your job function. Training will be provided.
• Continuous and routine monitoring of the plant to avoid environmental impacts,
• Ensuring compliance with the IPPC permit at all times.
• Working as part of a team for continual improvement to minimise environmental impacts at the Allington EFW plant.
• Record and report any impacts or potential impacts on the environment to the Shift Manager.
• Contributes towards the team development and provide input to team meetings.
• Ability to demonstrate high values to ensure the promotion of good team ethics.
• Continual Involvement in the team decision making processes.
• Part of team developing procedures and risk assessments within the IMS.
• Working within a small team of staff covering all activities within the Allington EFW site.
• Operation of overhead cranes, front loader machinery and forklift trucks and any other machinery within the tipping hall area.
• Assist with completion of relevant reports within the RDF preparation area.
• Assist with maintenance activities on RDF preparation area equipment.
• Routine plant tasks to be undertaken diligently.
• Diagnose and rectify plant equipment faults.
• Involved with team briefings on a frequent basis and ensure effective shift handovers within the teams.
• Ensure that all defects reporting within the MMS is effective and followed through to completion promptly.
• Inspections of delivered waste to ensure compliance within the IPPC permit and record and report any non-compliances.

Experience
• Operation of overhead cranes, front loader machinery, road sweeper and forklift trucks. Training will be provided.

Essential Knowledge
• Satisfactory completion of the relevant Competency Management System modules.
• Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix.
• Understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Understanding of safe and efficient traffic management within a busy environment.
