Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Supported Living Cornwall

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun-loving and resilient person to take on the role of a Practice Leader within our Supported Living service for people with learning disabilities and Autism. You will be overseeing services in our Supported Living Cornwall division (including St. Austell and Newquay). The ability to engage and work with the people support and staff teams, great organisational skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude are essential as this post will be required to fulfil both management and direct support duties within this busy, diverse service as required.

As Practice Leader, you will work with the Registered Manager to role model outstanding support whilst also undertaking duties such as rota planning, appraisals & supervisions, risk assessments, support planning and co-ordinating the regular training of your team. You will be able to use your IT skills to effectively use basic systems designed for efficient reporting. You will need to have unwavering values of Transparency, Engagement and Quality, to understand the specific needs of the people supported, ideally with knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

You will work closely with family, external agencies, and your colleagues - using the expertise of others to ensure access to a holistic, truly person-centred service. You will demonstrate your ability to plan, deliver, and review support on an outcomes focused pathway, considering positive risk taking to develop skills and have meaningful experiences. You will be driven to continuously improve the service and performance of your team to enable the people supported to direct their lives by having opportunity, choice and control.

You will have experience providing services for people with learning disabilities and autism, familiarity with supervising a team, and a current working knowledge of CQC regulation would also be advantageous. This is a 24 hour, 365 days per year service and you will need to be flexible to work as the service requires, including mornings, daytime, nights and weekends - in addition, this post holder will support the out of hours on-call service on a rota basis.

Essential for the role:
• Recognised professional qualification - minimum NVQ Lv.3 Social Care
• Full UK driver’s licence and have use of a car.
• This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and subscription to the Update Service, right to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.
