The role:

- Salary of £19,500 including standby plus overtime
- Up to 10% employer contribution towards Aviva's Group Personal Pension Plan

Reporting to the yard every morning, as a Repair & Maintenance Operative, you will be tasked with assisting with the repair, maintenance and replacement of potable water mains across our water network.

You’ll work as part of a two-person team and will receive on-the-job training so that you earn as you learn.

Dealing with all sizes of communication pipes, mains and ancillary apparatus, you will ensure that the highest standards of services are delivered at all times to our customers.

This role will involve a range of manual activities such as digging, lifting and using hand tools. Once trained, you will take part in a standby rota for one week in four.

Other organisations may call this role Labourer, Junior Maintenance Engineer, Trainee Water Engineer, Trainee Utilities Engineer, Trainee Engineer, Water Systems Engineer, Water Systems Technician, or Junior Engineer.

About you:

To be considered as a Repair & Maintenance Operative, you will need to enjoy working as part of a team that is outside in all weathers to complete our essential repairs and ensure we provide water services to our customers. Ideally, you are in possession of a full, valid driving licence (or have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of commencing the role).

An LGV driving licence would be beneficial to your application but is not essential. A Streetworks qualification would also be an advantage however as this is an entry level role so we will provide the training needed.
