We are now looking for Study Assistants to join the Student Services Department in Swansea, Carmarthen and/or Lampeter on a permanent basis.

- THE ROLE -

As a Study Assistant, you will be tasked with supporting disabled students to develop their independence and autonomy within the higher education (HE) environment.

Helping students to develop enabling strategies, you will provide practical support, using your skills and knowledge of HE, to offer tailored one-to-one support activities that address barriers to learning that disabled students face.

You will provide enabling support to issues such as timekeeping, organisation, research activities and workshop activities. Additionally, you will provide examination support and offer a manual notetaking service to support students’ learning journey.

- ABOUT YOU -

To be considered as a Study Assistant, you will need:

- Mandatory qualifications and professional body membership for DSA fundable non-medical helpers
- Strong knowledge of higher education practices and, ideally, experience
- Good interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to demonstrate effective organisational skills, organising individual responsibilities and prioritising own workload
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources
