Who are Thatchers Cider?

Established in 1904 by William John Thatcher, we have grown into one of the top cider-making businesses in the world. Now in our fourth generation of family cider makers, we’re exceptionally proud of our Somerset roots.

We’ve experienced tremendous growth through industry-leading levels of investment in our marketing, people development, innovative technology and world-class cider mill. The best part? We’re just getting started.

We’re now seeking a Supply Chain Stock Controller to join our busy team on a full-time basis, based at Myrtle Farm in Sandford.

The Benefits

- Discounts in our cider shop
- Long term career prospects
- Company pension

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised individual with excellent attention to detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude to join one of the top cider-making businesses in the world.

It’s an exciting time to be joining our team as we’re currently in the middle of constructing a new, fully automated warehouse. Your role will be integral during the transition process to ensure things go smoothy and you will have the chance to take on more responsibility in the long term, enabling you to enhance your skill set and experience.

What’s more, we’re big on investing in our teams and committed to supporting people to develop their knowledge and expertise so we can promote from within. So, if you are looking for a new challenge and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Supply Chain Stock Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring we have a transparent and accurate control of stocks within the supply chain and all stock movement is properly recorded within our stock control systems.

Taking ownership of stock management, you will strive to reduce stock variances to the smallest practical level, ensuring theoretical stocks reflect the reality of physical stocks and improving the efficiency of our operation.

Working closely with Warehouse Team Leaders, you will help develop and implement a right-first-time approach to stock-counting, product-picking and event reporting. You will carry out regular and accurate product stock counts and actively challenge, investigate and resolve instances when our processes or our stocks are wrong.

Additionally, once construction is completed on our new, fully automated warehouse, you will play a critical role in assisting with migrating our current operation to the new system, ensuring a smooth transition. You will also take on the responsibility of operating the new Warehouse Management System (WMS).

About You

To join us as a Supply Chain Stock Controller, you will need:

- A ‘can-do’ attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment
- Demonstrable skills in teamworking
- The ability to be flexible with working hours
- Computer literacy with the ability to create spreadsheets and effectively use emails at a minimum
- High levels of numeracy

Experience of using Nav or a similar reporting and control system, preferably in an FMCG environment, would be beneficial to your application.

Other organisations may call this role Stock Controller, Supply Chain Controller, Merchandising Controller, Stock and Systems Controller, or Warehouse Stock Controller.
