An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new National Mental Health Lead to join the National Safeguarding Team.

The Role

As our National Mental Health Lead, you will lead the development of emotional well-being and mental health approaches across Oasis Academies.

Providing clinical expertise to staff supporting children and young people, you will support the OCL aims, vision and ethos, contributing your specialist mental health knowledge.

Additionally, you will provide clinical expertise and advise on assessment and interventions to staff, pupils and their families across all the Oasis Academies. You will work in partnership with the other organisations that make up the wider Oasis Trust to support our approaches and aims.

About You

To join us as our National Mental Health Lead, you will need:

- Experience in community mental health work with children, adolescents and young adults
- Experience of providing individual and group interventions for treatment of mental health
- Proven experience in delivering training to professionals, volunteers and parents
- Substantial experience of leading and supervising staff within this area of work
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Advanced triage skills and knowledge of levels of care within community mental health
- To be skilled in working with other agencies including the voluntary sector
- Expert knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding vulnerable adults
- A current professional registration in field of Mental Health (NMC, HCPC and/or BCAP)
- A qualification in leadership and or management or extensive leadership experience

A degree in a relevant subject would be beneficial to your application, as would experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Any training in research or post registration training in a treatment modality to diploma/degree standard as a minimum, such as CBT, would also be desirable.

Experience of writing resources for individuals and groups in the treatment of symptoms of mental health and/or in writing training packages would also be advantageous.

Furthermore, experience of delivering expert level training around mental health, self-harm and the prevention of suicide would be equally favourable, as would experience of launching innovative projects in the field of Mental Health.

A CBT/DBT/IAPT post grad qualification would also be useful, as would experience in delivering interventions in partnership with education and/or a local authority.
