We are now looking for Business Skills Advisers to join our team on full-time, permanent contracts.

The Role
As a Business Skills Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of SMEs, with a focus on skills and workforce development planning, as part of Workforce for the Future (WFTF), a three-year funded business skills and training service delivered by Business West and other key partners.
Joining an experienced team, you will assist small and medium sized businesses to navigate a complicated skills landscape, working with them through diagnostics, workforce planning and the delivery of opportunities and projects within their business.
You will create and implement workforce development plans, training and employability programmes within their business and build on those activities over time, focusing on business recovery and growth.
Additionally, you will:
- Work with WFTF delivery partners to encourage SMEs to engage with education and regional and/or national skills initiatives
- Host workshops and peer to peer learning
- Collate digital case studies to share best practice across the region
- Create programme related digital resources and written content for online platforms
About You
To join us as a Business Skills Adviser, you will need:
- Successful experience in an employer facing role which includes providing services related to skills, training and business recovery and/or growth aspirations
- Experience of providing and initiating action on employment and skills, particularly with an employer focus
- Experience of delivering resolutions to issues through creative solutions and service excellence
- Experience of designing, developing and delivering professional presentations, both internally and externally
- Experience in running workshops and/or action learning sets
- Strong computer literacy in MS Office, Excel, Websites, CRM systems and other project related tools
- An understanding of business skills and people needs, both current and future
- An understanding of the national and local skills policy context and practices of three or more of the following organisations: Further / Higher Education; business organisations; CBI, FSB, IoD, Business West; Education Skills Funding Agency; DWP / Job Centre Plus; National Apprenticeship Service; Third Sector; Local Authorities
A degree qualification or equivalent experience would be beneficial to your application, as would experience in workforce development planning and/or skills and learning development. Experience in delivering learner programmes or training courses would also be advantageous.
