Main purpose and scope of job
FCC Drivers working on the Buckinghamshire HRC Contract will work alongside other drivers under the Transport supervisor and Contract Manager as part of the Transport team, to carry out all operational duties required for the effective day to day servicing of all nine HRC sites. The main job scope is the collection, shunting, transportation and emptying of waste containers from the HRC sites across the Buckinghamshire County.

Duties and key responsibilities Operational
• Complete all necessary vehicle daily checks and ensure vehicle is roadworthy • To promptly report any vehicle defects or damage to their line manager • To ensure that loads are safe and legally compliant at all times • Check and correctly use any paperwork issued in relation to the load(s) carried • Ensure that all legislation regarding EU tachograph regulations are met • Keep vehicles clean and in good order • Communicate any customer issues or complaints promptly to the line manager • To drive in a safe and efficient manner at all times, complying with all road legislation

Qualifications and Experience (preferred)
• HGV Class 2 driving licence. • Roll on-Roll off experience. • Driver CPC. • Good communication skills. • 3 years minimum of driving HGV. • Landfill experience or waste industry history. • ADR Class 9 (not essential)

Essential Knowledge
• CPC Qualification or willingness to work towards is essential. • Demonstrable skills in achieving demanding work requirements and ensuring customer needs are met. • HGV and ADR Qualifications or willingness to work towards. • Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix. • Driver CPC perpetually completing the required training days and maintaining this qualification. • EU and RTD legislation

Personal attributes and other requirements
• Have great commitment to environmental and road haulage compliance and law. • Hold a full UK driving licence. • Excellent customer service and communication skills • sound administration and organisational skills • Resilient and able to work on own initiative • Team player • Good Time Keeping and attendance • Well-disciplined and have a flexible attitude to respond to the needs of the Contract • Customer focused • To promote a safe, good health and safety culture embracing refresher and other training as required. • Available and willing to work weekends on a rota basis • To be a professional ambassador for both FCC and BCC in all dealings with all off takers and members of the public, and to this end must be well presented and wearing FCC branded PPE and work wear when customer/public facing
