We’re looking for a Technical Support / Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team in Preston on a full-time basis.

The Role

As a Technical Support / Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to enable our Sales, Purchasing, Marketing and Customer Services Teams to fulfil their day-to-day duties and deliver great services. You will provide support across the sales, use and marketing of our product range.

Primarily, you will provide technical support to internal and external customers on our wide and varied product range. You will support the returns process, testing and report on issues, liaising with customers and providing advice on products sold.

Additionally, you’ll create a range of demonstration videos for our website and to ensure customer can see their products are now working, developing a range of quality procedures to ensure issues are not repeated.

Your role will also include:

- Testing new electrical products, ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Communicating with customers to advise and navigate them through any issues
- Undertaking regular system inspections to detect any faults

About You

To be considered as a Technical Support / Pre-Sales Engineer you will need:

- Experience in CCTV, IP Networks and Intruder and/or Access systems or similar
- Good communication skills
- A professional manner
- The ability to work on own initiative
- The ability to work under pressure and in difficult situations under supervision
- Knowledge of own limitations. Must be prepared to undergo formal further education at college and within the workplace.
- Adaptable to learn CE Compliance to aid in batch testing
- A desire to develop within QED and the industry

Experience with enterprise-level CCTV systems would be preferred but is not essential.
