This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to kick start their IT career, the apprentice will find themselves in a supportive team environment and will be mentored appropriately to achieve their apprenticeship qualification. You will be a key member of the team, delivering first line response to our clients via various communication methods and ensuring that a high level of customer service and satisfaction is attained. You must be keen to learn and have a self-disciplined approach to your own learning, work undertaken and possess a ‘can do’ attitude.

The Position:

As the 1st Line Support Engineer / IT Helpdesk - Technical Service Desk Technician you will also have the opportunity to get involved onsite problem solving, IMAC (installations, moves and changes) and project management (after training), which will involve liaising with the customer, project planning and time and resource allocation. Projects range from firewall installs or upgrades and PC installs through to installation of complete green field implementations comprising of comms links, networking, server cabinets, PCs and servers. As a successful candidate, you will have a great chance to work in a technically rewarding environment that can offer variety and opportunities to develop your skill set and further your career, within this IT Managed Service Provider that act as an outsourced IT Department for small to medium sized businesses, by implementing and supporting IT solutions based around HP, Microsoft, Symantec and SonicWALL.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming queries to the Service Desk in a professional, confident and timely manner 
• Record all tickets and track issues to resolution 
• Support computers, laptops, tablets, switches, smart phones and applications
• Maintain user accounts including rights, permissions and system groups
• Take part in an on-call rota to ensure customers are supported 24/7 

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

• 5 GCSEs @ Grade 4, which must include a maths, literature, or science-based subject / Equivalent work experience in a relevant role (minimum of 2 years)
• Comfortable in single or multiple groups to discuss problem and find solutions.
• An analytical mindset.
• A creative thinker who can think “outside the box” to find solutions from different angles.
• Has a passion for all types of technology and learning how it that technology works.

Pay & further details:

• Salary: £17,500 - £19,000
• Apprenticeship Duration: 18 months
• Location: Covent Garden
• Working Hours: 40 hours per week
