We’re currently looking for a Quarry Operative to join our team based at Darrington Quarry. You will also provide cover at Jackdaw Crag Quarry in Tadcaster and Barnsdale Bar Quarry in Kirk Smeaton.

The Role

As a Quarry Operative, you will safely and efficiently support operations and production at our quarry sites in accordance with health and safety.

Promoting environmentally considerate work practices, you will:

- Operate mobile and fixed plant in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained appropriately
- Examine the materials produced to ensure a high-quality product is maintained
- Ensure the quarry's production levels are maintained safely and to schedule
- Ensure timesheets are recorded accurately and processed in a timely manner
- Ensure all daily inspection books are completed and defects are reported

About You

To join us as a Quarry Operative, you will need:

- Quarrying experience
- Knowledge, experience and/or training in mobile plant operations, specifically wheeled loading shovels, articulated dump trucks and tracked excavators
- The proven ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to re-evaluate priorities, responding quickly and positively to change
