Situated between Ambleside and Windermere, Brockhole is currently visited by over 300,000 people per year, and is the main Lake District Visitor Centre on the shores of Lake Windermere. Our site includes Brockhole House, a great Arts and Crafts house which is set in 30 acres of stunning listed gardens. The house and site are home to multiple cafés, an award nominated restaurant, a shop, art gallery, meeting rooms and a thriving adventure activity and boating hire centre.

We have multiple café outlets at Brockhole - including the main Brockhole Café, the seasonal Garden Shed and Lakeshore Cafés, the BBQ and vintage Fish and Chip van, plus new offers we develop every year.

2021 was a record breaking year for Brockhole, and we are now expanding our offer even further. We are therefore seeking enthusiastic, energetic and friendly people (16yrs +) to join our fantastic team for the following roles:

• Cafés Assistants
• Restaurant Assistants
• Bar Assistants (18+)

We offer great rates of pay, full training and a beautiful, inspiring and fun place to work.

You don’t need to have previous catering experience, as we will provide full training, but you do need to want to learn, be willing to work hard and to serve customers with enthusiasm and a smile.

Café Assistants will learn to do everything in a café - coffee making, ice cream scooping, drinks running, waiting on, clearing tables, till operating. You could be working in our main table-service café with its stunning terrace overlooking the lake, or in one of our very busy seasonal cafés.

Restaurant Assistants will be working in The Gaddum Restaurant, our 5* stunningly beautiful restaurant, nominated as best newcomer in the North West in 2020, and one of the top 10% of restaurants in the world on TripAdvisor. You will be waiting on tables, and looking after customers serving Afternoon Teas and fantastic lunches. There may also be evening event work.

Bar Assistants (18+) will be working in our new pop up terrace bar mostly at weekends and in the holidays, serving customers and taking orders. You will need to have some experience of bar work previously.

This is a great way to develop your career further or to get some experience of the hospitality trade, learn easily transferable skills, or just to earn good money in a fun and friendly environment.

You can work anything from a minimum of 2 full days a week to full time (37hrs), and there is always lots of work available in the school holidays if you want to earn more. We can offer up to 6 month contracts to November 2022, or you can join us as a casual worker.

Members of staff also get discount on all of Brockhole activities so you can even go kayaking after work too!
