A family of 52 educational institutions serving over 28,000 students from a variety of backgrounds, our academies seek to close the educational gap that exists between disadvantaged students and their more privileged counterparts. Our Community Hubs are integral to making this change.

We are currently looking for a Community Hub Leader to join our hub on the Isle of Sheppey on a permanent, full-time basis working 40 hours per week.

The Role

As our Community Hub Leader, you will focus on developing our Hub on the Isle of Sheppey. You will play a leading role in the delivery of a range of services such as family support, holiday provision and volunteering.

The Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey is a large secondary school with approximately 1,500 students on role. Oasis have been involved with the establishment of a community forum on the island, providing a unique opportunity for partnership working, alongside a food bus, with a team of staff and volunteers.

Planning, resourcing and co-ordinating the Community Hub plan, you will build supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups. You will also lead the strategic development of the Hub, including comms and income generation.

Through engaging with staff, volunteers and community workers, you will continually develop the team in order to grow the Oasis Movement. You will ensure that all team members are involved in the planning, delivery evaluation and sustainability of activities and services.

About You

To be considered as a Community Hub Leader, you will need:

- Experience of strategic management within a school, statutory, voluntary or commercial organisation
- Experience of leading community delivery and growing projects from a start-up phase
- Experience of working with young people and communities
- Experience of budget management to maximise funding
- Knowledge and understanding of community work
- Knowledge and application of ICT systems, budget planning and accounting, health and safety law and equal opportunities
- To be educated to degree level or equivalent and/or relevant professional qualification

Relevant training in management and leadership, extended services and/or community development would be beneficial to your application. Senior leadership experience in extended services and/or specialist schools would be equally desirable.

Experience of managing delegated budgets and/or public funds would be advantageous, as would experience of charity management.

The closing date for this role is 9am on Monday 4th July 2022. The first round of interviews will be held on the week beginning 4th July with final interviews on Wednesday 12th July, on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent.
