We’re now looking for a passionate Waste Awareness, Communications & Education Manager to join our team in Buckinghamshire as part of our Household Recycling Centre Contract.

The Role

As our Waste Awareness, Communications & Education Manager, you will be responsible for producing, presenting and developing educational resources and communications to promote understanding of waste management.

You will carry out school and site tours of Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) across Buckinghamshire, as well as attending community events and creating social media posts, presenting to audiences and encouraging awareness of the benefits of recycling and incentivising the usage of HRCs.

Targeting specific audiences, primarily school-aged children, you’ll develop and deliver a range of waste hierarchy education and communications initiatives. We have a well-established educational programme but you will have free rein to produce resources and content that supports the national curriculum.

Furthermore, you will:

- Produce a monthly contract newsletter
- Attend events to promote recycling
- Create social media posts and promotional communications
- Produce reports and presentations on operational performance
- Analyse and interpret data to identify areas of improvement

About You

To be considered as our Waste Awareness, Communications & Education Manager, you will need

- A minimum of two years’ experience working in either an environmental or waste management or educational discipline
- Social media experience
- Experience of working with schools or school-aged children
- Experience in public communications
- Experience analysing data
- Sound knowledge of waste minimisation, composting or recycling methods and systems
- Motivation and passion to encourage sustainable approaches to waste management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- A degree or equivalent in environmental sciences, teaching or related subjects
- A full, valid driving licence
