About the Role
The People Administration team are the first point of contact for Sue Ryder colleagues for any HR issues. These include providing support or redirection for queries including employee on-boarding, contract changes, leaver administration, employee relations queries and other people administration tasks as required. The team work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of two days per week to be worked from our office in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Responsibilities include:
• Conduct all pre-employment checks including reference requests, disclosure and barring checks, right to work, occupational health, qualifications etc.
• Liaise with Line Managers on joining dates and joiner process. Advise on risk assessment if necessary.
• Add new employees to the HR system .
• Process all changes to terms and conditions, employee requests and manager requests to the deadlines and service standards set and in line with contractual and
statutory regulations.
• To create, issue and upload relevant associated variation and contract documentation.
• Act as the first point of contact for all employees and managers and provide advice and information on all people aspects in line with agreed service levels.
• Escalate more complex cases to the People Adviser for the area and keep appropriate records.
• Record, track and close all incidents and requests made through the call management system.
• Ensure the accuracy/integrity of all data input into the system.
• Highlight configuration or security issues to People System Admin Team
• To issue employer and financial references requests.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times, in particular people and sensitive data. Ensure that data is stored and managed in accordance with Data Protection Policies and
Procedures.

About you
• A good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of the whole employee lifecycle - CIPD Level 3 would be an advantage
• Basic knowledge of employment legislation and experience of employee relations matters
• Knowledge of Applicant Tracking/HR/Payroll/Workforce Management Systems (CoreHR experience an advantage)
• Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
• Knowledge of GDPR regulations an advantage
• Ability to listen without judgement and keep calm under pressure
