Royal Voluntary Service cafés, shops and trolleys in hospitals, leisure centres and other locations are part of the fabric of the charity and a real asset in their own right. The Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Manager in the day-to-day operations of our retail shop within Hairmyres Hospital.

Promoting the provision of outstanding customer service, you will ensure the retail shop meets performance targets, particularly for sales and profitability. You will also provide cover for the Manager during periods of absence or leave.

- Support the delivery of exceptional store standards
- Engage and motivate your team of employees and volunteers
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to your team
- Assist in recruiting and co-ordinating volunteers and employees
- Identify and implement areas for improvement across your retail outlet
- Produce management reports to monitor performance

Please note, this role will require elements of flexibility in order to meet the requirements of the retail shop.

Working Hours

This is a permanent, part-time role, working 25 hours per week, five days out of seven.

What you’ll need

To join us as a Deputy Manager, you will need:

- Experience at management level in a similar retail environment
- Knowledge of EPOS systems
- Knowledge and experience of retail administrative processes
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems to a basic level
- Proven leadership and people management/motivational skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills

A full, valid driving licence would be desirable.
