Business Development Manager - Care

Location: Covering the south
Working Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours
Salary: £40,000 + Bonus

Job Role

To maintain and grow sales and profitability of a defined portfolio of new customers in the residential care sector using the resource of the local Territory Account Managers and BCHS branch network.
(Proven and demonstrable sales success in the care sector required)

Main Duties

- Produce a business plan for existing and new customer portfolio in line with budget
- Provide regular reports as required by the Management Team
- Provide quotes for customers to achieve agreed financial targets (sales and margin)
- Liaise with purchasing to develop joint approaches to major prospect customers
- Grow the value of existing customers by constantly seeking opportunities to extend volume, range and own brand offering
- Understand the Bunzl USP and tailor it to add value to customer offering
- Prospect new customers and regain lost business
- Active participation in tender opportunities
- Maintain existing business through effective customer contact including regular visits
- Maintain price files and advise customers of increases and manage expectations to ensure business is retained

Key Skills

- Residential care experience required
- Proven and demonstrable sales success in large complex sales environment
- Plans own workload, setting goals, timelines and milestones as appropriate
