The Role

As a Market Specialist, you will facilitate and support the work of a team providing acute market and regulatory insight.

Your work will directly inform and support the Executive and Board and contribute to the next strategy.

The role sits within the Strategy team of the Commission and provides an opportunity to work on high priority projects.

Specifically, you will:

- Lead, develop and contribute ideas to help identify market developments, risks and opportunities that will improve regulation
- Use horizon scanning, to develop high-quality insight and analysis of the gambling market and associated regulations

Additionally, you will:

- Lead the delivery of market and regulation insight projects
- Develop new sources of insight and information
- Support the team and Commission colleagues to identify risks and opportunities
- Contribute to policy development and regulatory impact assessments

About You

To be considered as Market Specialist, you will need:

- Experience of sourcing and interpreting complex data, to make clear recommendations
- Leadership skills with the ability to develop talent and knowledge in others
- Knowledge of business models, market economics and products
- Excellent management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

It would also be beneficial if you have experience of economic analysis and forecasting, as well as knowledge of regulatory models and their applications (including the Gambling Act).

Other organisations might call this position Market Manager, Market Analyst or Analyst. The role will be known internally as Market and Regulatory Insight Manager.
