Job Description- Assistant Distribution and Warehouse Manager
Title: Assistant Distribution Manager - Hands On

Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager
Responsible for line managing Distribution staff

Objectives of the job:
Managing the day to day running of the warehouse
To monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
Responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff and transportation staff
Ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met

Main Duties:
To be hands on on the warehouse floor leading the team by best practice, and developing ways of working and staff.
Responsible for all investigations including LWC distribution staff, accidents and near misses, keeping records and chairing disciplinaries for distribution staff. Previous experience in investigations and disciplinaries a must.
Developing and implementing new warehousing systems. Ensuring that the warehouse as a whole runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Oversee the goods in process, ensure that all goods are checked in accurately, with discrepancies reported, and located correctly within the store.
Responsible for warehouse management, ensuring most efficient bin locations for products, changing locations to fit with changing volumes.
Assist in managing the accuracy and efficiency of the goods out process, from picking, to checking and loading.
Drive efficiencies in route planning and route management, whilst maximising customer satisfaction in hitting times calls and avoiding busy periods.
Coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems.
Maintaining effective stock management:
Ensuring that products are dealt with efficiently in the warehouse and successfully get delivered to customers
Ensure the warehouse is well displayed and within guidelines.
To control stock density and rotation. To ensure that stock is stored within health and safety guidelines.
Responsible for monthly stock takes within the warehouse.
Enforcing health and safety policies and procedures.
Overseeing the recruitment of new staff, including interviews, training and inductions.
Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
Promoting staff development, training and disciplinary matters.

Key Skills:
Good computer skills, to include:
Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records
Learn and use in house ‘Trinity’ system and Cyberquery
Good team work skills
Good Management and communication skills
Good specialist knowledge of the drinks industry and warehousing policies and procedures
IOSH an advantage
Fork Lift license an advantage
