We’re now looking for a Transport Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As the Transport Manager, you will oversee all aspects of transport and connected services in relation to the Mid & East Kent Household Waste Recycling Centre and Transfer Station.

Supporting the Contract Manager, you will manage the MEK Transport Fleet, as well as a team of staff, and ensure everything is operated in safely and efficiently.

You will also advise on, and implement, key systems that will support the management of transport.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure all contract obligations relating to the transportation of waste are fulfilled
- Manage the profitable delivery of the haulage services
- Conduct operational cost reporting

About You

To be considered as a Transport Manager, you will need:

- Experience of management, working alongside operational teams
- Evidence of implementing change programmes that have a positive impact on operational and business requirements
- The proven ability to select and build strong teams
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in IT, including the ability to use fleet management systems
- A CPC qualification or be willing to work towards this
- HGV and ADR qualifications or be willing to work towards these
- A full, valid driving licence
