Retail Fashion Sales & Visual Merchandising Volunteer

Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.

About us
Our Todmorden shop is looking for volunteers to join the team. Situated on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire in the Calder Valley, Todmorden is a thriving town, and we’re in the centre of an amazing community who offer us their support every day of the week as customers, donors and volunteers. The store has been open for over 11 years and is supported by an amazing group of volunteers selling a wide variety of items from ladies and men’s fashion to bric-a-brac. Every day is different and you never know what treasures you could unearth in our wide and varied selection. We are also adjacent to the outdoor market and just a few minutes walk from both the bus and train station.

About you
If your passion is fashion and you are creative with a flair for design displays & visual merchandising, then come and help our customers discover the best fashion in our Todmorden Sue Ryder shop. As a volunteer, you'll put your creative eye for fashion to good use by producing an interesting and inviting atmosphere to entice customers into the shop and help display items at their best potential. You will also be able to meet & greet customers and become a part of our shop floor team learning the till and so much more.

How you’ll benefit
• Join a friendly team & make new friends
• Gain confidence & customer service skills
• Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
• Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
• Give back to your community
• Support people through the most difficult times of their lives

You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.

How much time does the role take up?
Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.

Why not arrange a taster session?
You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
