We’re now looking for a Service Manager to join Cornhill Community Centre on a fixed-term, full-time contract until 31st March 2023.

Your role

As the Service Manager, you will lead and manage activities within of our Cornhill Community Centre in Banbury.

The Community Centre offers a range of activities and provides older people with the opportunity to socialise, build friendships and maintain their independence and wellbeing.

To accomplish this, you will lead and manage the provision of activities, ensuring the day to day management and effective co-ordination of staff and volunteers. You will ensure that clients in the community can access full use of the service.

Through your effective income generation activities, you will ensure the future financial viability of the Centre. You will promote room hire, support café and food income, raise income from activities and events and undertake ongoing community fundraising.

In this key role, you will:

- Recruit, train and oversee the day-to-day co-ordination of staff and volunteers
- Work with other Service Managers, including our Dementia Oxfordshire Service Manager
- Monitor the service budget, specifically service income and expenditure
- Support our community fundraising activities both locally and nationally
- Ensure the service is compliant with all the necessary policies, procedures and regulations
- Undertake general administrative duties

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:

- Experience at management level within a similar commercial service type
- Experience of building positive relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Experience of using basic data to monitor trends
- Knowledge of local steering groups, any associated groups, the committee/landlord representative, community centre entertainment providers and Social Care bodies
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to act on your own initiative
- The ability to proficiently use standard IT systems

This role will require a DBS check.

This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.

This role involves some limited travel across a local geographic area. It is expected that the post-holder be flexible efficient with their time and utilise video conference facilities and face to face interchangeably. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
