The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.

We are now looking for a Senior Events Manager to join us on a full-time fixed-term contract, working 36 hours per week until the end of December 2022.

The Role

As a Senior Events Manager, you will manage the successful delivery of the Royal Parks Half Marathon (RPHM) which takes place in October 2022.

Working across Park Departments to manage the alignment of the event’s logistical, operational and marketing strategies, you will ensure the safe and effective on-day delivery of the RPHM. You will take responsibility for a range of activities including signing off on marketing campaigns, managing and forecasting income budgets and leading on our sustainability initiatives.

Working with our partners and sponsors, particularly Limelight Sports, you will ensure the effective coordination of teams across organisations, particularly regarding the delivery of content and training workshops.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage the design and production of VIP areas
- Manage our merchandise partners
- Oversee our crisis communications plan
- Assist in charity recruitment

About You

To be considered a Senior Events Manager, you will need:

- Significant experience of building effective relationships with key event delivery partners
- Experience of working on high-profile mass participation sporting events
- The ability to lead and inspire team members and
- The ability to ensure The Royal Parks is at the forefront of fundraising and mass participation event knowledge
- Excellent project management and events management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including team working, negotiating and problem solving

Ideally, you will have experience of leading, pitching and securing new event sponsors, particularly within the charity sector.

Proven experience of forecasting and budget control, particularly managing large budgets of up to £3.5m per project would be highly beneficial.
