We own and operate more than 200 recycling, treatment and disposal facilities and employ nearly 2,400 people across the UK.

We are currently seeking a Stock Buyer to join us on a full-time, 12-month contract.

The Role

As a Stock Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting stock management and procurement processes at our EFW (Energy From Waste) facilities.

Specifically, you will oversee a data cleanse project on identified stock items, ensuring that stock lines comply with company compliance and procedures. This will involve data input and analysis of research, evaluation, pricing and compliance with standards and performance.

Assisting in the development of procurement policies, you will seek ways to progress and improve buying strategies for the long-term benefit of the business. Providing support to stakeholders, you will propose suggestions on stock management, deliver regular updates and offer advice and training.

Additionally, you will:

- Compile and maintain stock databases
- Identify parts and compile specifications
- Liaise with on-site engineers
- Review and recommends stock levels for all parts
- Conduct market research to find suppliers
- Request and review quotations

About You

To be considered as a Stock Buyer, you will need:

- A minimum of three years’ experience in procurement and contract management
- Experience in the purchasing of commodities and project management
- The ability to re-evaluate priorities, respond quickly and positively to business requirements and work to tight deadlines
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in use of MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel

A CIPS qualification would be beneficial to your application.
