Stopover Housing provides accommodation with support to young women across Brighton & Hove and now also in West Sussex. It aims to enable young women to successfully transition between dependence and independence.

Following Stopover’s expansion into West Sussex, we are currently looking for a Senior Support Worker to oversee this work at our new project in Worthing. Supported by both the Housing Services Manager and Project Team Leader the role will ensure that appropriate and relevant support will be provided to all young women accommodated within the housing schemes.

The role will include significant liaison with the local authority social services department and therefore we are looking for somebody willing and able to advocate on behalf of marginalised young women.

You will:

- Be committed to fostering positive professional relationships with the young women.
- Have an understanding of the effects of early trauma on young women.
- Be able to provide on-going support through the transition within the Stopover accommodation pathway.
- Support the West Sussex staff team at a senior level.

In return we offer:

- Ongoing support and training.
- Reflective practice with external facilitator.
- Restorative circles with external facilitator.
- Mindfulness, resilience and self-care with an external psychotherapist.
- Generous annual leave allowance.
