About us
Our hospice is Gloucestershire’s only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care. You can also be cared for in your own home, or receive virtual support from our day hospice and outpatient services in the comfort and safety of your own home. We will help you live the best life you possibly can.
About the role:
As a Chef -you will be joining a small friendly kitchen team providing amazing care, via delicious meals and refreshments for our patients and their families.
Not only is this your chance to improve our patients quality of life, but you will be able to develop your own catering skills as you help design new menus, and create new recipes to cater for a wide variety of diets.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all food is correctly and safely prepared and stored
• Ensure that all catering staff follow Sue Ryder policies and procedures
• Provide a high quality catering service within available resources
• Ensure all equipment is left clean at end of shift in line with systems in place
• Record all information as required by Sue Ryder policies and procedures
About you:
• A very flexible team player
• Able to communicate effectively verbally, and in writing
• Able to cook/prepare food
• IT literate
• Experienced working in a catering environment
• Knowledge of COSSH and Health & Safety regulations
• A Food Hygiene certificate, and NVQ 3/4.
