We’re now looking for an Activity Group Co-ordinator to join our wonderful organisation and make a real difference in the lives of older people in Lancing, on a part-time basis for a fixed term contract until the end of March 2024.

Overview

As an Activity Group Co-ordinator, you will facilitate the delivery of activities and support groups for people living with dementia and their carers/families.

The Role

You will plan and deliver activities in line with best practice for four groups of people living with dementia, including Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, quizzes, reminiscence and many more, ensuring group activities inform, educate and provide structure and support.

Additionally, you will assist with co-ordination of volunteers, supporting, encouraging and motivating them, input data entry for group members and volunteer information and ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures at all times.

Working Hours

This is a part-time role working 20 hours per week, across three to four days, for a fixed term contract until the 31st March 2024.

What you’ll need:

- Knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional)
- An understanding of the need for client confidentiality
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Good organisation and facilitation skills
- Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems
- A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid / reimbursed)

Experience in a care or support environment would be beneficial to your application, as would an understanding of collaborative working.

Experience of delivering group-based experiences and an understanding of the value of such activities for people living with dementia would also be advantageous.
