Receptionist - Patient Services (Part-Time)

As a well-loved and established medical practice, our client is situated in the busy town of Yeovil on the Somerset/Dorset border.

They are now looking for a Receptionist to join them on a permanent, part-time basis working 24.5 hours per week over Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

The Role

As a Receptionist, you will supervise the practice reception, providing excellent customer service for patients and visitors, whilst completing a range of administrative duties.

Acting as the first point of contact, you will provide a call handling service to patients and respond to in-person queries, as well as registering patients and booking appointments.

You will update computer records using online and clinical systems, ensuring the GPs have access to the relevant patient information.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage incoming post
- Ensure the waiting area remains tidy
- Provide patients with information on results

About You

To be considered as a Receptionist, you will need:

- Experience of working with the general public
- A caring and positive approach to queries
- The ability to communicate sensitively with both staff and patients
- Basic keyboard skills
- Exceptional organisational skills
- An excellent telephone manner
- Good customer service skills
- Numeracy skills
- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 - 9 (C- A*) in English and Maths

Ideally, you will have experience of working within the NHS or similar health care setting and an awareness of clinical systems such as EMIS used in General Practice and/or the NHS.

A European Computer Driving Licence would be beneficial to your application, as would proficiency Microsoft Office would also be desirable.
