We are looking for an HSE Business Partner - Environmental & Sustainability (Travel to other sites will be required).

We are looking for an HSE Business Partner to provide support and expertise to help drive the business risk strategy and legal compliance agenda. Working with all stakeholders (Internal and External), the successful post holder will influence all colleagues to improve the HS&E culture across the organisation. In addition to the normal Health, Safety & Environment duties, this role will have a lead focus on Environmental & Stability, therefore, the successful candidate must have proven experience in providing support and expertise to help drive the environment and sustainability agenda.

We are looking for a forward thinking and confident individual who will represent the business as part of the HS&E team and ESG team.

The role will offer a salary range of between 45k-55k (DOE) plus car allowance of £6000 per annum.

Location: Wellingborough or Milton Keynes.

Main Responsibilities:

Creation and reporting on environmental and sustainability internally within Yusen UK and the wider group, including board level submissions
Reporting SECR requirements and all reporting to be timely, concise and appropriate for the relevant audiences
Provide support and expertise to help drive the business risk strategy and legal compliance agenda
Support the development and ongoing improvement of the HS&E operational business guide, in line with the business risk strategy
Support in its communication, training and implementation across the organisation
Conduct audits to ensure compliance to the guide, with key focus of positives and actions to close non-conformances - In line with the 3 lines of defence
Demonstrable and positive support to business projects / focus areas, with an ability to lead change management where required to deliver a continuously improved risk agenda
Deliver business advice and share knowledge in your focus area, demonstrating leadership in its delivery across the organisation
Support the wider HS&E & risk teams in their delivery of their focus areas


Key Experience and Skills

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health & Safety
Demonstrable evidence of some other CPD knowledge (e.g., courses such as Fire risk assessments, DSEAR, Racking Awareness, IEMA).
Corporate membership of IOSH.
Computer literate in all Microsoft Office packages
A degree in Environmental Sustainability (ideal but not essential)
IEMA Qualification.
Proven experience in the field of environmental and sustainability management
Experience implementing initiatives resulting in progressive improvement of environment and sustainability practices
Project and/or change management training would be an asset.
Demonstrable track record in leading Sustainability and Environmental initiatives
Experience in the Logistics industry is preferred but not essential
Strong communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build strong business relationships and drive action.
Positive engagement at all levels of the business.
Good planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, to ensure the timely delivery of key tasks and outcomes
Be able to demonstrate robust judgement, decision making and creative problem-solving ability to drive positive outcomes.
Be a resilient and highly motivated self-starter who relishes a challenge.
Can explain technical specialism domain(s) to technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence critical business decisions.
Ability to challenge the thinking and perception of all levels of stakeholders, influencing behaviour and culture change.
