We are looking for a Fleet Manager to effectively and efficiently manage the UK truck trailer and MHE fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for a Fleet Manager to join an organisation that offers personal development as well as offering great benefits. The successful candidate must have proven fleet maintenance and engineering experience with strong organisational skills and be an excellent leader.

The role will offer a salary of up to 55K (subject to experience), bonus, family health cover and the opportunity to work remotely up to 2/3 days per week (subject to business requirements). Travel to other sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to;

Effective management of the company’s vehicle and MHE fleet
Regularly review and oversee the fleet KPI’s and take appropriate action to improve operational efficiency
Effectively control and monitor costs to attain the most cost-effective approach to fleet management
Manage and coach direct reports, providing leadership and encouragement
Manage and monitor levels of performance through delegation and objective setting with involvement of individual
Identify any developmental requirements
Be alert to changing situations, show flexibility in approach, adaptability in difficult circumstances and continuously strive to achieve a resul
Adherence to company procedures and legislative compliance, particularly applicable to the company’s O licence conditions
Ensure Fleet adheres to company H & S procedures and fleet maintenance is carried out in a safe manner
Take responsibility for maintaining and updating all fleet and MHE related policies and procedures
Carryout project work on behalf of the Head of Fleet and Facilities as directed from time to time
Ensure all vehicles and MHE is properly specified and produce new vehicle specifications as required
Ensure all processes and systems remain fit for purpose
Regularly update company livery manuals and specification sheets


Skills and Qualifications

City and Guilds advanced level vehicle engineering is essential
H & S and general management qualifications desirable
Strong track record in fleet management
Operator’s licence and compliance
Management & control of large vehicle fleets
Self-starter, strong strategic focus and continuous improvement experience
Precise, persistent and thorough, able to set and maintain quality standards for their work
Excellent analytical and budget management skills
Confident in dealing with stakeholders in a range of settings
Strong negotiation skills
High level of Logistics industry knowledge
Must have a ‘can do’ attitude
