The Role

As the Senior Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining and repairing
the electrics throughout the school.

Carrying out a range of inspections and testing of electrical systems, you’ll ensure that safety issues and repairs are promptly addressed.

You’ll install indoor and outdoor electrical controls, wiring and lighting systems as well as
developing and maintaining design guide specifications.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage the work of the Electrician
- Schedule and prioritise work programmes
- Certify installations, repairs and modifications
- Stay appraised of revisions to relevant building and safety regulations
- Maximise energy efficiency by installing energy efficient fittings

About You

To be considered as the Senior electrician, you will need:

- A minimum of three years' residential, commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Experience of Fire Alarm Systems
- Experience of stock control and ordering of materials
- An understanding of statutory health and safety requirements
- An understanding of Fire Safety and particularly fire detection and alarm systems
- The ability to produce schedules of work and design guides to show how electrical work is being prioritised
- An 18th Edition Wiring certification
- A NVQ 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician
- A C+G Level 2 Inspection and Testing Certificate
- A C+G Level 3 BS 7671 Certificate
- A C+G Level 3 Part P Certificate
- A AM2S Installation Certificate
- A JIB Gold Card
