We are now looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join our Procurement and Facilities Team on a permanent basis.

The Role

As the Senior Procurement Officer, you’ll be joining our growing procurement team who deliver a variety of services to support our objectives.

You’ll manage a range of procurement activities, including the tender process, quotations, grant requirements, supplier relationships and contract management for goods and services.

Reviewing policies, procedures and processes, you’ll improve operational efficiency by ensuring procurement information and documentation is accurate and relevant.

Additionally, you will:

- Offer professional advice to colleagues
- Provide guidance on procurement processes
- Support the development of procurement documentation
- Oversee the work of the Procurement Support Assistant
- Manage and deliver meetings, letters, reports, presentations and briefings
- Represent Social Care Wales at events, seminars and conferences

About You

To be considered as a Senior Procurement Officer, you will need:

- Experience organising and managing tender processes and driving best practice
- Experience determining the best procurement route and making recommendations based on options and rationale presented
- Experience of contract writing and development
- Experience of e-procurement tools
- An understanding of public procurement policy and related legal frameworks and associated compliance implications
- Knowledge of markets and products to apply specific procurement processes in search of best value
- An understanding of the relevance of legislation including health and safety, Welsh language, equality and other government policies
- A Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply certification (CIPS) level 4 certification or above, on the way to a full accreditation
- A degree or equivalent qualification
