We are now looking for a Lecturer in Early Childhood Physical Development to join us on a part-time, permanent basis working 22.2 hours (0.6 FTE) per week.

- THE ROLE -
The post of Lecturer in Early Childhood Physical Development will be located within the Wales Academy for Health and Physical Literacy (WAHPL). The post-holder will be under the line management of the Director of the Wales Academy for Health and Physical Literacy but for operational day to day duties will work under the guidance of the manager of WAHPL. The post-holder will be required to devise a range of teaching and assessment materials, covering several modules including community sport professional development projects as part of the WAHPL professional development portfolio. The post-holder will deliver teaching in a variety of different learning environments and use a variety of teaching styles and approaches, including all levels of undergraduate study and, where appropriate, postgraduate study. The post holder will offer both academic and pastoral feedback and support to students to the highest professional standards and with regard to the ongoing enhancement of the student experience. The post-holder will undertake scholarship, research, training or project work, either individually or within a team, to ensure ongoing professional development and to enhance the profile of both the Academy, Institute and University. The postholder will make a positive contribution to the day-to-day activities of the Academy that may cover areas such as marketing, student recruitment, research seminars and workshops, staff training and professional development.

- ABOUT YOU -
To be considered as a Lecturer in Early Childhood Physical Development, you will need:
- An undergraduate degree.
- Have studied at postgraduate level in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment, and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level in relevant subject area.
- Experience in the design and development of module content.

- Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment, and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level in relevant subject area.
- Experience in the design and development of module content.
- Demonstrable ongoing commitment to professional enhancement, scholarship and/ or research and project work.
- Evidence of commitment to exploring external funding opportunities, awards or grants or possible commercial opportunities.
- Possesses good organizational and personal management skills.
- Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
- IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources including a willingness to teach by video-link, VLE, e-mail or website delivery
- Engagement in continuous professional development.
- Evidence of ability to balance competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, research, administrative demands, and deadlines.
- Demonstrable commitment to team working.
- Demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity in working practices.
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet role requirements.
- Have completed research at Postgraduate level and presented findings.

It would also be beneficial if you had:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- Experience of supervising postgraduate and research students
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
