Blue Cross are one of the UK’s leading animal welfare organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.

What is the role?
We are currently recruiting for two Animal Care Assistants to join our team at our Victoria animal hospital. The successful candidates will work alongside our team of Vets, Nurses and other Animal Care Assistants to provide a high standard of care to the pets in our hospital.

These are permanent full time roles working 42 hours per week on a locally agreed rota, which includes weekends and public holidays. Due to the nature of the work of Blue Cross, and this post, it will be necessary to exceed these hours when the work load demands. What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• Experience working or volunteering in veterinary practice
• Experience within a reception or client care role
• Good IT and communication skills

It would also be great if you had:
• Qualification in Animal Care or similar
• Previous experience in working in a similar role
• Understanding of the importance of a clean, comfortable environment for animals
• Ability to observe changes in animals health and wellbeing
• Basic administration skills
• Dealing with the general public
• Ability to work under pressure
