The Position:

You’ll be developing new features and enhancing existing ones on our ever-growing suite of projects that span the whole company, from Client Services, through Operations, Support and Finance. You’ll get plenty of training, support and opportunity to learn, and will gain fantastic experience using modern, industry standard software development tools, practices and processes.

The Delivery Group (TDG) is a large, well established Logistics service provider with over 500 staff around the UK. We provide bulk mail and UK and International parcel delivery services to a wide range of clients from banks and utility companies to mailing and fulfilment houses to SME ecommerce retailers. Our strength is the high quality service and experience we provide our clients, of which our technology solutions are integral.

Role and Responsibilities:

You’ll be joining the highly skilled and experienced Tech Team where you’ll be designing, building and testing high quality, bespoke software solutions, using a wide variety of modern technologies and frameworks, including PHP, Python, JavaScript & CSS.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English
• A logical thinker and good at problem solving
• Passionate about a career in Software Engineering and keen to learn
• A self-starter, comfortable googling a problem and having a go at solving it
• You’ll already be familiar with basic programming concepts (loops, conditionals, objects etc) and have built or contributed to development of a software application in the past. Experience with PHP, or another Object Oriented language, JavaScript and CSS are desirable.

Pay & further details:

• Salary: £17,000 to £20,000
• Location: Remote (With ability of travelling to Warrington)
• Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
