Volunteer Shop Assistant
Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.
Our Woodford Green shop is looking for volunteers to join the team. Right in the heart of Woodford, on the busy Broadway, sits a shop where everyone is welcome - our lovely Sue Ryder store. From tots to teens and those looking for designer clothes and accessories at reasonable prices, this shop really has something for everyone with new items going out every day. The shop always has quality bric-a-brac, books and entertainment and the dedicated team are always ready to offer help and advice to make your shopping experience extra special.
Do you have an eye for a bargain, get excited about sustainable fashion, love helping customers discover pre-loved treasures and want to join a friendly team - if so we want you.
Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.
How you’ll benefit
• Join a friendly team & make new friends
• Gain confidence & customer service skills
• Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
• Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
• Give back to your community
• Support people through the most difficult times of their lives
You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.
How much time does the role take up?
Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.
Why not arrange a taster session?
You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
