Senior Lead Volunteer
Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.
Our Wokingham shop is looking for volunteers to join the team. Don't let the size of our shop fool you - the rails and shelves are packed full of great quality items just waiting to be found, from the latest high street fashion to that finishing touch for your home. With a friendly happy-to-help team we’re sure we can help with whatever you're looking for.
Support the shop management team with the day-to-day running of the shop. When trained and confident, you can take on the responsibility of covering the shop in the absence of any paid staff that may be attending meetings, are unwell or are on annual leave. Additional Training period can vary.
Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.
How you’ll benefit
• Join a friendly team & make new friends
• Gain confidence & customer service skills
• Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
• Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
• Give back to your community
• Support people through the most difficult times of their lives
You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.
How much time does the role take up?
Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.
Why not arrange a taster session?
You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
