At Scottish Autism we acknowledge the specialist support our staff provide to autistic individuals, therefore those doing support work are known as Autism Practitioners. We provide outstanding training and are continuously improving to ensure all our Autism Practitioners are supported and have the skills to deliver a quality service. This post is a good opportunity for those with a generic support worker experience to specialise.

We keep it simple with 3 pay points. You progress at your pace as you develop. We benchmark regularly to ensure the rates are competitive.

Our Services:

ARC - Day opportunities supporting individuals with Autism to gain new skills and interests in a safe and thriving environment.

Outreach - Supporting individuals with Autism within their home and in the community to access local amenities and resources.

Housing Support - To support individuals with Autism to maintain their own tenancy and to provide care at home as required.

Adult Residential - To provide a home to individuals with Autism within a group setting while promoting life skills.

It is not necessary to have experience of working within social care as we are seeking to appoint Autism who share our values and are willing to learn and develop into the role.

We are recruiting Nightshift Autism Practitioners to join our service located in Haddington. You will work alongside the Senior Autism Practitioner and team members to develop personalised support plans as well as building positive relationships and working in partnership with the supported individuals, their families, health professionals and other stakeholders to ensure the supported individuals life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support.

As a Nightshift Autism Practitioner, experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential as we are seeking to appoint people who share our values and have an interest in building relationships. We will support you to learn and develop within the role and offer an extensive autism specific training programme.
