We are looking for volunteers to support and actively listen to bereaved people within a community group
environment.
· To support at a friendly, informal face to face group, be there to offer people time to talk and share their
experiences of grief.
· To complete mandatory training and attend training throughout the year supporting your role.
· To be able to work closely with other volunteers in a group environment, offer peer support to other
volunteers if needed.
· Have the confidence to engage with a varied group of bereaved people within the session.
· To be able to assess and provide information or signpost to other organisations when needed.
· To be available to work on a rota with other volunteers and be able to facilitate the group.
· Be aware of your community setting, housekeeping, risk assessments, first aid kits.
· To maintain records of attendance in line with Sue Ryder policies and procedures.
· Attend regular group supervision sessions with your family support team
