About the opportunity

As the Art Director, you will help cultivate and improve the teams' immediate internal design processes and be a key contributor to the creative marketing strategy, providing guidance on output and facilitating collaboration.

You will have oversight on executing creative design concepts, projects, and workflows. You’ll provide leadership to a team of two designers in concept creation, providing the management they need to consistently deliver best-in-class work. You’ll also function as the creative point of contact for all in house departments, maintaining healthy relationships with frequent updates and team collaboration to create effective creative solutions.

About the Role

• Head up the day-to-day function and organisation of the Design Department
• Supervise the creative team, managing a team of 2 and guide them to the best design practices
• Proactively aid in the improvement for the Design Team, as well as delivered on time and on budget
• Assist in communicating the vision for the brand, ensuring one cohesive design agenda
• Supervise delivery on the design lifecycle from concept to delivery, ensuring the outcome is of the best design quality from the team
• Present day management of design pipeline
• Be the lynchpin between marketers and designers - ensuring there are solid briefs for the designers, stakeholder management, project management
• Sign off of designs at a day-to-day level
• Managerial and operational excellence are crucial
• Mentor and advise the creative team
• Liaise fully with the marketing and IT teams/developers to ensure the product is being portrayed in its best light
• Communicate closely with Marketing & Creative Directors to ensure that product is consistently cohesive and on brand

About you

• Proven experience in a similar (Art Director) role
• Knowledge and experience in video creation and storyboarding
• A deep and thorough understanding of branding processes
• Exceptional creative and conceptual thinking
• Significant agency experience in marketing design creating effective campaign solutions
• Experience managing and mentoring designers
• A hands-on approach when needed to help your team achieve the desired outcomes
• Strong ability to provide clear creative direction with timely, supportive, and regular feedback
• Excellent verbal, written, presentational, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strongly involved in mentoring, supervisory, and team-building skills to create a collaborative and progressive team culture
• Problem-solving and a real proactive attitude always thinking ahead of what’s coming next
• Experience in design UX/website design and working closely with developers to execute high spec mobile ready websites
