About the role

The role of a Peer Mentor Lead is to facilitate and co-deliver a Peer Mentoring Well-Being training programme at HMP Brixton and Pentonville in London that will enable and promote recovery and support for prisoners with mental health support needs.

Duties will include:

- Create and support strong relationships with members of the prison population and staff.
- Recruit volunteer peer mentors and support them in the delivery of the programme using person centred thinking and principles.
- Work towards the set objectives of the programme.
- Attend stakeholders’ meetings and preparing performance monitoring reports.
- Support prisoners to access the training programme and carry out regular reviews of what is working and not working well for them and the team and set appropriate actions accordingly.

About you

To be a Peer Mentor Lead at Certitude, the following are essential:

- Developing excellent relationships with individuals and stakeholders built on trust and respect
- Enabling choice for people within the Criminal Justice System, and actively involving them in the design and delivery of workshops
- Able to organise self and others to get things done with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing to groups and in meetings
