Overview

Our Supporting Your Recovery service supports older, vulnerable clients who require transport and support to attend chemotherapy, radiotherapy, kidney dialysis, Haematology and bone marrow and clinics for treatments at any UHL hospital or any other hospital in the East Midlands area.

We’re currently looking for a Service Driver to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term contract until the end of March 2023.

The Role

As a Service Driver, you will support our Supporting Your Recovery service in the Leicester area.

In this role, you will transport clients to medical appointments, promoting the service and adhering to relevant policies and standards.

You will also:

- Support the recruitment, training and co-ordination of volunteers
- Develop relationships with Leicestershire Hospital staff, clinical staff and volunteers
- Participate in local fundraising
- Undertake general administrative tasks

Working Hours

This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week, 3 hours on Wednesday, 6 hours on Thursday and 6 hours on Friday. This is a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2023.

What you’ll need

- A full, valid driving licence and access to a car on a daily basis
- Some knowledge and understanding of the NHS, Commissioning groups and local authority Commissioning including Health and Social Care bodies
- An understanding and experience of working with and motivating volunteers
- An understanding of and the ability to comply with Data Protection Law
- Proficiency in IT
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
