Blue Cross hospital Grimsby provides veterinary treatment for pets of clients whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary fees. The range of work carried out is the same to that in private practice, we pride ourselves on offering an excellent, round the clock level of care to our patients and their owners. Our facilities including digital X-Ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, multiparameter anaesthetic monitors, infusion pumps, bear huggers, large inpatients facilities with separate cat, dog, small animal and isolation wards.

We hold monthly clinical governance discussions and have developed an award-winning set of clinical guidelines to assist our vets in decision making. High standards are important to us and so is the ability to discuss cases openly where lessons have been learnt, within a safe, non-judgmental environment.

We are looking for Veterinary Surgeons with a caring attitude to animals and owners and will be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients. Our hospital sees a high caseload of emergency and critical care cases, both surgical and medical, so it is desirable that you have some small animal experience. The role will be on a shared OOH rota with sole charge required for night and weekend shifts with time off in lieu like for like on a rolling rota.

What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
• Demonstrable small animal or mixed practice experience
• Sole charge experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

It would also be great if you had:
• UK small animal or mixed practice experience
• UK driving licence
